Associate Vice Provost of Resource Management
Timothy Shuey, CPA, serves as Associate Vice Provost of Resource Management. Shuey joined Appalachian State University Academic Affairs in June 2025. Previously he served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania, CFO for Gardner-Webb University, and Financial Officer at Penn State University in the College of Engineering and Penn State Information Technology.
In his role as Associate Vice Provost, Shuey leads the Academic Affairs Office of Contracts and Budgeting. The Office oversees the contracting of Academic Affairs faculty and staff, budgeting, forecasting, funds management, and financial oversight and compliance. He collaborates and communicates with academic, finance, and budget leadership, provides fiscal guidance, and performs other duties as assigned by the Provost in support of the operational and strategic initiatives of Academic Affairs.
Shuey holds a B.S. in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management from Penn State University, a B.S. in Accounting from Towson University, and an MBA from Penn State University. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA), Accounting Concentration, from Marshall University, with an expected dissertation defense in Spring of 2026. Shuey holds an active CPA license (State of Maryland), Certified Research Administrator, and Technology Business Management certification.
