Interim Vice Provost for Enrollment and Dean of the Graduate School
Ashley Colquitt, PhD serves as Interim Vice Provost for Enrollment and Dean of the Graduate School. In her role as Interim Vice Provost for Enrollment, she leads the Office of Admissions, the Office of Financial Aid, the Registrar’s Office, and Enrollment Communications and CRM Solutions, while continuing to serve as the Dean of the Graduate School.
Colquitt joined Appalachian State in July 2023 as Associate Vice Provost and Dean of the Graduate School. She has an extensive background in higher education, with over 20 years of experience at various public institutions. Prior to Appalachian State, she served as the Dean of the Jack N. Averitt College of Graduate
Studies at Georgia Southern University. During her tenure, she played a critical role in supporting the college during the consolidation of Georgia Southern and Armstrong State universities, overseeing enrollment management operations, and implementing new student success initiatives while working collaboratively with faculty and campus partners.
Colquitt holds a PhD in Health Studies from Texas Woman’s University. As a first-generation college student, her experiences have influenced her leadership practices in higher education. She believes in providing an accessible and affordable college education, while preparing graduates to meet the needs of their region and state.
