Update on App State's Quality Enhancement Plan

Dear Faculty, Staff and Students,

As part of our reaffirmation of accreditation process with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), App State is preparing to initiate a new, five-year Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) to take effect by Fall 2024.

The QEP is an integral component of the reaffirmation of accreditation process. It is part of our institution’s ongoing comprehensive planning and evaluation processes. An effective QEP reflects and affirms a commitment to enhance overall institutional quality and success.

Elements of an effective QEP include:

  1. A topic identified through its ongoing, comprehensive planning and evaluation processes;
  2. Broad-based support of institutional constituencies;
  3. A focus on improving specific student learning outcomes and/or student success;
  4. Resources to initiate, implement, and complete the QEP; and
  5. A plan to assess achievement.

After several months of reading proposals, considering budget submissions, viewing presentations, and gathering campus feedback, the QEP Steering Committee and campus leadership have selected the topic “Climate Literacy and Response-Ability: Cultivating Resilient and Just Communities” as the first step in establishing App State’s QEP for 2024-29.

You can find more information about the QEP at qep.appstate.edu.

We wish to thank everyone for their valuable contributions to this process. Over the next several months, we will reach out with additional opportunities to participate in the development and implementation of App State’s next QEP.

Sincerely,
