Update on Campus Legacy Events in 2016: Fall Convocation and Black & Gold Ceremony

The Divisions of Academic Affairs and Student Development are pleased to announce that beginning in fall 2016, University Convocation and the annual Black and Gold Ceremony will merge into one coordinated event. The Common Reading Program and other important elements from both events will be preserved as these two university traditions are combined into one signature event to mark the start of the academic year.

A planning committee is currently being formed and a tentative date of Monday, August 15, 2016 at 1 p.m. has been established for this inaugural event. More specific details will be shared as they become available. We look forward to building upon these important legacy events, and increasing opportunities for additional campus and community participation.

Sincerely,

Darrell Kruger
Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor

Cindy Wallace
Vice Chancellor for Student Development
