Dear Members of the Appalachian Community,
The Fine and Applied Arts Dean Search Committee is pleased to announce that four candidates have been selected, from a very large and accomplished pool, to visit the campus as finalists for the position. The candidates are:
Kern Maass (Campus Visit April 4-5)
Phyllis Kloda (Campus Visit April 6-7)
Chinedu Okala (Campus Visit April 20-21)
During their visits the candidates will meet with many constituents of the College of Fine and Applied Arts and the University. For detailed information regarding the candidates, including their CVs and itineraries, please see the search website: https://searches.appstate.edu/current-searches/college-fine-and-applied-arts-dean
Of special interest to colleagues and students in the College of Fine and Applied Arts will be the candidates' receptions at 4:15 pm on day 1 of each visit and public presentations at 10:00 am or 10:30 am on day 2 of each visit. We hope that many faculty, staff, and students will participate in these events.
On behalf of the search committee, I offer my thanks in advance to those who will assist in these next important steps toward identifying a new dean.
