International Business (BSBA)

Shown here are the general learning goals of the program broken down into specific student learning outcomes (SLOs). These SLOs represent what a student should be able to do as a result of successfully completing this program. Student performance on these outcomes are routinely assessed by program faculty as a way of informing programmatic improvement efforts.

Goal Outcome

1. Students will be proficient in a foreign language

  • 1.1 Students will minor in a foreign language of their choice.
  • 1.2 Students can engage in unrehearsed converstaion on topics related to business in a foreign language.

2. Students will possess the cross cultural skills necessary to work with people from diverse backgrounds.

  • 2.1 Students have lived abroad either while studying at a foreign university for a semester, or having an international intership lasting at least 10 weeks.
  • 2.2 Students recognize and interpret similarities and differences between American beliefs, behaviors and values and those of their target language group.

3. Students will possess functional knowledge pertinent to international business activities.

  • 3.1 Students are able to assess the performance of interntional firms in multiple countries and evaluate the causes of their success or failure.
  • 3.2 Students are able to engage in international investment while considering the implications of exchage rate movement on investment performance.
