Graphic Arts and Imaging Technology (BS) - Packaging Production

Goal Outcome

Students will create products (e.g., technical reports, letters, emails, presentations, and so on) that demonstrate their ability to communicate effectively within the discipline.

  • Students will apply discipline-related technical skills and knowledge, demonstrate effective communication skills, appropriate workplace etiquette, and reliability in work roles.
  • Students will be able to create and analyze output from commercial print production.
  • Students will be able to design, create, and analyze output from flexographic print and packaging production equipment.
  • The program will incorporate multiple opportunities for integrating cross-media platforms to achieve a common graphic communication goal.

Students will create products using digital or print media technology.

  • Students will demonstrate the ability to prepare professional quality work necessary for prepress operations, including electronic imaging, as part of the digital production workflow.

Students will demonstrate the ability to use the materials, tools, and equipment of the graphic communications industry responsibly, accurately, and in a way that minimizes their environmental impact.
