These SLOs represent what a student should be able to do as a result of successfully completing this program. Student performance on these outcomes are routinely assessed by program faculty as a way of informing programmatic improvement efforts.

Goal Outcome

Students will communicate effectively through a variety of writing styles

  • Students will compose a broadcast-quality writing project.
  • Students will write well written copy for broadcast.

Students will integrate various forms of media

  • Students will demonstrate the ability to present themselves in a professional manner to a potential client.
  • Students will identify and discuss current issues in electronic media regulation.
  • Students will prepare a professional job application letter and three broadcast-quality projects in the areas of audio, video and writing.
  • Students will produce a broadcast-quality audio project.
  • Students will produce a broadcast-quality video project.
  • Students will produce a Performing Portfolio using professional-quality audio and video production skills.

Students will use technical equipment necessary for storytelling in electronic media
